I always recommend Mi Casa to friends! They have many dishes that are particularly delicious. The last few years of me coming here I've been ordering the Tamales every time. I've had tamales a few other places and the ones here always come out perfect. They serve them in red sauce with cheese and beans and rice on the side. The Puerco con salsa verde is my second favorite dish but yeah, you have to use the tortillas to make little tacos out of the ingredients! They're so good that way!

Good clean place. Could see inside kitchen which looked well kept. Had the steak and shrimp fajitas, and got a very good portion, and were very good! They also had a good Latin ambiance going as well with the music that was playing inside. I recommend checking out this place!

Really big clean space with great food. I had the pork chili Verde which comes with rice, black beans, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and either corn or flour tortillas. The chili Verde was delicious! I had a few fatty pieces of pork..I know, I know, that's where the flavor is. I just pick around it. There were also two bay leaves in my serving... Not a big deal. I'm a cook and I know they are inedible, but some might not know. The beans were perfectly tender and seasoned well. I never eat the tortillas, yep total gringo here LOL The rice was okay, a little bland for Mexican rice. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. The tomatoes had a lot of cores, so they stayed on the plate. The sweet tea is good, could be a tad stronger, but I'm Southern so.... I told my boyfriend I wanted to lick my plate! He had the taco salad which looked like a typical taco salad. I will go back again!

I only gave three because food was good but service was bad. The waitress was to busy socializing with co-works meanwhile we had to ask for refills and more salsa. My husband ordered a ribeye and we were served our food first and he sat there while we ate and we're almost done. Than his food came out. Usually you hold food so everyone eats at the same time. The food was delicious but that's the only complaint.

Half way decent. I had a burrito, it was just average though. Nothing special. Chips were good. I finished my salsa, was never offered another. What frustrated me the most was the group of female servers that sat in the corner texting or whatever on their mobile phones. They paid no attention to customers. I had a nice waiter who was attentive other than the salsa. Kinda rude and unprofessional to sit there and do whatever they were doing....other than their job. Decor was nice. Place was very clean.

Terrible. Meats were bland. Flour tortilla in enchilada dry. No sour nor guacamole on plates??? Beans tasted burned/charcoal/smoky. Also, an ala carte enchilada is $5???? Ala carte chimichanga $8???? An hour later and my stomach is still upset from the food.

Awesome! Enchilada was delish and service was great! Will definitely be going there next time in in town

The salsa and queso cheese is yummy. I didn't like the flavor of the beef comparing it to other Mexican restaurants in the Brandon and Winter Haven area@. The chicken quesadillas were good. The chicken flautas seemed slightly greasy but good. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Not impressed, very beautiful interior design, but thats it, food is average this restaurant that claims to cook Mexican food is far from being a real Mexican restaurant the flavors are not authentic, flavorless margaritas, it's just not what a real Mexican food taste like

Good service, great food, clean dining area, excellent chips and salsa. What else do you need?

Great food. Service was fast and on the ball. They have takeout, full bar and great food at a great price. Only one bad experience out of many visits and they offered us help to fix the problem. Highly recommend this place.

Took out of town guests there for lunch on Memorial Day weekend. Service was attentive & quick..we had margaritas & piña coladas from the bar...soft drinks were refilled as soon as they were low...our food was as authentic as anywhere we eat outside of Texas.... All in all... Kudos Mi Casa. We also go to the one in Riverview. And, personally, as long as the waitstaff & kitchen is attentive to my needs... I'm not worried about who's sitting, talking or texting.

Very typical American Mexican restaurant. The interior is basic but it does provide plenty of seating in a light airy dinning room. The food did take awhile even though there were only a few customers for the lunch rush. My steak fajitas platter was very good, but definitely more then I could eat. My only compliant is that they would provide more smaller portions at better prices to avoid spending $15 on lunch.

Used to be the best Mexican food in town. Last few times I went the refried beans tasted like dirt. Also the manager refused to give me silverware after my food was delivered because they were still wrapping them. Terrible service.

BOGOF margaritas all day. I felt a little lushy sitting by myself with two margaritas... but I pushed through and tried to remember not to hold one glass in each hand at the same time. I liked the white cheese dip app, but wished it came in a smaller size for the single diner. I also enjoyed my Carne a la Tampiquena - a grilled skirt steak served with rice, beans, tortillas and guacamole salad plus a mini chicken flauta. The steak was juicy if not a tad tough and fatty/sinewy in some spots. I liked the flauta dipped in cheese dip. No booths. Large open dining area means you hear all the conversations around you. OK chips and salsa. Service and food delivery are a bit slow.

While driving back to Atlanta from Tampa and had a hankering for draft beer and a side of Mexican food, so consulted the great Yelp app oracle and was guided to Mi Casa. Arrived at 12:58 on Sunday afternoon and waited the required 2 minutes to order the beer which could not be sold until 1PM. Draft beer was two for one, woo hoo! The reviews here are generous, but with the large group of after church regulars here it seems this is a popular local spot. Ordered the chile relleno and spinach enchiladas, both done well. Service was friendly. Overall, muy bueno!

Food was just ok. I had fajita enchiladas. I have definitely had better mexican food. Chips and Salsa were good. The portions, atmosphere and service were all good. The place was busy and clean. We have friends that rave about their food so we will give it another chance and order something different next time.

Had the enchilada and quesadilla lunch entrees. These were good, but we thought the refried beans were runny and not very flavorful. Loved the BOGO margaritas!

I visited Mi Casa today based on the other reviews, and it did not disappoint!! The food is fresh, attractive and delicious. The portions are quite generous as well. I ordered the Southwest Chimichanga from the vegetarian section of the menu, and it was amazing! Lots of delicious veggies, and the queso sauce is not overwhelming. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that they have horchata on the menu, but when I ordered it, the waitress informed me that they no longer offer it. :(

Good food and a clean place( very important to me ).Now, this is not going to be like eating at your Mexican friends house or going to Mexico for a vacation, but compare to the type of Mexican food offer in the area, this is a great option. The chips and salsa are great and the shredded beef chimichangas are pretty good. The price and portions are fair.

Very typical . Bagged tortilla chips from Sysco . Salsa was like tomato sauce. After that and a look at the menu we excused ourselves from the restaurant. These restaurants give Mexican food a bad name and are very typical from Florida all the way to Montana . Every dish is the same . Something in a tortilla covered with beans . 3 types of cheese letus and sour cream. It's not Mexican food it's an insult.

Just off exit 19 on I-4. Very good food and the service was good. Price was $25 for two people (includes the queso we ordered which was really good). I will definitely come back.

Chips and salsa good. My fish tacos were average but well worth the social aspect because many of my friends love the place. i will not spend over 6 dollars because when I do I cringe because it took them 45 mins to bring me an A la Cart dish. i am somewhat of a Mexican food snob. i am from Houston and there is a mom and pop Taqueria on every corner that with blow your taste buds away. Seriously, don't use me as a guide. People in Plant City pack the joint out because it's the only Americanized Mex Restaurant in town. SERIOUSLY, order and it will be a whole hour before getting your food. You better have 2 hours to burn or you will be ticked when you leave. I warned you.

Margaritas are great but spring for top shelf, with Patron it's worth it. Sometimes the service is a little slow, but my fiancé and I eat here a couple of times a month and really enjoy it.

My favorite place to eat! I highly recommend the Chili Rellenos. Clean, great atmosphere, great service. I could eat there everyday - except for the face that my husband isn't crazy about Mexican food so I don't get to go often enough!!

The chips, salsa and queso here are excellent!! However, the main entrees are not very good. This restaurant uses poor/low quality cuts of meats and the tortia shells for tacos and such are often old and not the freshest tasting.

At the end of my visit to my grandparents', I was getting really sick of eating at chain restaurants. My grandparents are big fans of places like Bob Evans and TGI Friday's, and as someone who prefers more local fare, it was a tough week. Enter Mi Casa. I'd had a craving for good old-fashioned Mexican food, something you should be able to find in droves in Florida. My grandmother had heard about this place from one of her friends, who said it was excellent. And it was. Big menu, friendly waitstaff, and clean, colorful surroundings. It reminded me of a cleaner version of some of the restaurants in Mexicantown in Detroit. I had the Southwest chimichanga, which was delicious, except for the jalapenos that I asked them to leave out. I converted my grandparents, who were also impressed, and I plan on going back the next time I'm in Lakeland.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
